In September 2021, we opened our atelier in the center of Barcelona. While visitors can browse through the collection in the front, we make every single piece by hand in the workshop in the back.

We love the close connection we have with our clients and many times their feedback or ideas have been incorporated into our products. In our atelier design, production and customer touchpoint exist in one space.

The best companion for your MacBook

Perfect fit

We adapt our MacBook sleeves to every new generation of MacBooks. Sometimes the sizes of our sleeve models differ only by some milimeters from each other. We make sure that they fit perfectly to each model. It does not just look better, but also offers greater protection.

High protection

We use full grain leather from a local tannery close to our atelier in Barcelona. This leather has the complete fiber structure to maximize durability. The laptop sleeve is made out of 2mm thick leather. This thickness offers sufficient bumping protection while still feeling soft.

At Atelier Madre in Barcelona, all of our products are handcrafted with care and attention to detail. Our main objective is to create perfection in each piece we make.

We select the finest leather hides from local tanneries and precisely cut each component to ensure optimal utilization of the leather. All products are stitched by hand, to provide exceptional durability.

We finish all edges by bevelling and burnishing. This traditional and time consuming technic creates the distinctive "rounded look" at the edges of all our products.

Before shipping out, we control the quality of every item to ensure you receive only the best.

In our atelier, we manage every step of the production cycle, from conceptualization to sourcing, fabrication, and delivery. Our dedication to local communities and sustainable practices shows in our use of regional suppliers, with 99% located within Europe. Is vegetable tanned leather real leather?

Yes, vegetable tanned leather is real leather. Actually the most real leather you can find. It is describing the tanning method, that has been employed since the invention of leather. Vegetable tanned leather needs about 1-2 month for the tanning instead of 3-7 days for chrome tanned leather. The benefit: Nothing ages with such pride as vegetable tanned leather and smells so good.

How do you ship?

Can you make custom sizes?

Yes we make custom sizes! Tell us which Laptop you have, or what exact measurements and we can make it!

Do you make vegan leather sleeves?

We would love to make vegan leather sleeves! Unfortunately so far materials marketed to consumers as "vegan leather" are false advertisement and in many cases much worse for the environment. Mushroom, Pineapple, Apple leather and so on are either not as durable, or basically a plastic sheet with some fibers applied to. Furthermore working conditions fair trade and sustainability have to be taken into account when choosing the right material. We are working with local tanneries, which process a byproduct into something longlasting, we havent found anything better yet. But we observe the area closely, and as soon as we find something, we will try it out.
