Since 2018, we have been designing and producing leather objects in small series, using traditional techniques and a contemporary design language that balances precision with subtle organic geometry. All pieces are made in our Barcelona workshop using carefully selected, primarily local materials.
Materials are selected with restraint.
We work exclusively with high-grade, full-grain, vegetable-tanned leathers sourced from specialist tanneries in Spain, including Igualada in the Barcelona region.
Vegetable-tanned leather is chosen for its durability and its ability to age naturally over time.

Designs are developed without seasonal cycles. Objects are refined over time rather than replaced, improving with use rather than wear. Packaging is reduced to what is necessary.
Keeping design, production, and distribution close allows for consistency, control, and continuity.
Atelier Madre was founded by Manuel Dreesmann as a small and independent atelier for leather accessories. His work field is located at the intersection of interdisciplinary Design and Marketing. This broad approach enables him to shape the complete value chain towards customers.
The award-winning design language of Manuel Dreesmann keeps a balance between a distinctively minimalistic form follows function approach and architectural cutting-edge organic forms.
In 2021, he opened the first store in the heart of Barcelona in El Born. Since then, Atelier Madre has become a must-visit for clients from all over the world.
